Tipi wedding – Cassie and Mark’s garden party nuptials

Cassie and Mark married beneath a majestic old tree on a beautiful private property in Tumbulgum. Surrounded by their loved ones, this gorgeous couple created a unique and eclectic event, bypassing the traditional marquee hire, opting to incorporate a stunning Kata Tipi into their celebration instead. In the true spirit of a garden party, their guests played Bocce on the grass and dined like royalty on an assortment of delicious fare supplied by local caterers and food truck vendors.

What made you choose tipis for your wedding? We wanted to create a unique, relaxed and fun atmosphere for our guests and the tipis gave us that opportunity. We are both big kids at heart, so the tipi was perfect for our outdoor garden party.

What advice do you have for people who are planning a tipi wedding? Do it! It’s magical! Create a space that your guests will love to be in. Make different areas in and around the tipi to accommodate everyone; from stand up cocktail style to cozy lounges to chill.

Which styling tips are a must for our tipis? We collected second hand furniture from markets and vintage stores and combined old with new for an eclectic look. Style the tipi and its surroundings with trestle tables, bench seats, wine barrels and other furnishings from Gold Coast Tipis as well as your newfound treasures. Don’t forget to add lots of lights for the finishing touch!

Describe your overall experience with having your wedding reception beneath a tipi? Our guests keep saying it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. Super fun, intimate and relaxed. A great atmosphere for our nearest and dearest to celebrate our union as husband and wife. Best day ever! Thank you to all the vendors for making our dreams come true.
