Putting a twist on traditional, Jacq and Scott met before their wedding ceremony for ‘first look’ photos. The couple rendezvoused with their bridal party at Bond University, and Todd Hunter McGaw captured the incredibly emotional moment Jacq and Scott saw each other for the first time. And WOW, the photos are absolutely stunning!
Afterwards, Jacq and Scott’s ceremony was held on a private property at Varsity Lakes, and the newlyweds celebrated with their guests ’til the wee hours of the morning beneath one of our large Kata Tipis.
The first look
What made you choose tipis for your wedding? We decided to go for a private venue so we could enjoy the WHOLE night with our guests and not have to worry about a curfew. We chose to use a tipi as neither of us liked a marquee style, and the tipis create such a beautiful and romantic atmosphere. We had so many complements from our guests and we were able to dance until 4am!
What advice do you have for people who are planning a tipi wedding? No advice needed… you will love it!!
Which styling tips are a must for the tipis? Festoon lighting and the fire pit looked absolutely gorgeous, both on the night and in the photos. Lots of florals are also a must.
Please describe your overall experience with having your reception with the tipi? It was exactly what I expected and it created the exact atmosphere I had envisioned for my wedding day. We were thrilled with how it all turned out.
