Why Booking Early is More Important Than Ever: Wet Weather & Wedding Season

While we’re technically in the Gold Coast’s traditional dry season, 2025 has had other plans! So far this year, a surprising 75% of our weekend weddings have been affected by rain — something not expected this late in the season. As a result, we’ve seen a spike in last-minute requests from clients wanting to upgrade their tipi coverage or add more sheltered space. Unfortunately, due to limited availability, we haven’t always been able to accommodate those late changes.

That’s why we can’t stress this enough: booking early and planning for wet weather is essential. Our tipis are designed to handle the elements, with weatherproof materials and smart design features that keep your guests dry and comfortable, even during downpours. Not only do they look absolutely stunning in any setting, but they also create a warm, intimate atmosphere that turns a rainy day into something truly magical.

A tipi isn’t just for your reception — it’s a versatile structure that can be used as a wet-weather ceremony option, a dry space for dining, dancing, or your band, and a cosy zone for guests to relax if the skies open up.

If you’re planning a wedding or event this year, don’t wait to lock in your structure. Weather is more unpredictable than ever, but with the right setup, your day can go off without a hitch — rain, hail or shine.
